Tison Gullah Folk Art and Collectibles

Tison Gullah Art and Collectibles is a collection of folk art done by Irene Tison and vintage collection of jewerly, books, and other fine collectables she has collected from the southern region of the the United States.  Come in and enjoy the southern charm of Irene's folk art and her passion for fine collectables.

Irene Tison was born in Low Country of South Carolina.  She learn to draw and piant at the age of six.  Irene would sit at her mother feet after a long day in the cotton field and watch her mother relax by setting pen to paper.  Her mother would draw the world as she saw it around her.  She would sketch the long hard day of the farm life of the rural area of south Carolina.  Irene began to mimick her mother at an early age painting the world that she was growning up in.

Irene continued through the years painting the Gullah life she saw.  She is a self taught folk artist painting her childhood memories.  She grew up on a farm and many of her pieces reflects the simple but hard farm life she knew.
